FAVORITE CHRISTMAS MOVIES PART 2

Oh there's no place like ABC Family (now Freeform... don't get me started) for the holidays. Honestly the 25 Days of Christmas special has been a part of my life since before I can even remember and I can't imagine a Christmas without it. Even if I've seen each movie 3,117 times I am always happy and excited to sit down and watch.
I did a christmas list of my favorite movies last year - which you can read here - but obviously I have so many more favorites that didn't even make it on that list! Which brings me to day 5 of blogmas...

THE POLAR EXPRESS

This film is honestly revolutionary for it's time. I can remember the first time I ever watched it I was in such disbelief at how stunning and accurate the animation was for this film. The characters and details are incredible and the story/songs have become a great Christmas addition.

ELF

So Elf is a funny one for me because I really can't say I like Will Ferrel's acting... I actually kind of can't stand the guy. But for some reason this movie is a holiday classic that I watch over and over again even if he drives me nuts. The humor is different from his typical work which is what makes it more bearable for me but... I couldn't leave this out because I always find myself sitting down to watch it at least twice a season.

SANTA CLAUSE IS COMING TO TOWN

An oldy but a goody for sure! It is so wholesome and really up there with the core Christmas films in my opinion that, although we have far advanced this method of animation, there's something I love so much about it. I think I would show this film to my children (like my parents did for me) as a basis of Christmas movies just because to me this is who Santa was as a kid. And if you don't know the lyrics to "put one foot in front of the other" you might as well not know Christmas at all.

A CHRISTMAS CAROL

My sister and I always joke about one of the versions of this film my mom has on DVD. The ghost of Christmas past is so creepy looking that we burst into laughter everytime we see him. But I really love this tale in every format it's been recreated in. The characters of Scrooge and Tiny Tim are synonymous with Christmas which is so special. And I always cry, no matter how many times I've seen it, when the Ghost of Christmas Future comes.

FROSTY THE SNOWMAN

Another childhood favorite that I absolutely obsessed over as a kid. I really can't even say how many times that VHS was watched year round. The laughs, the tears, the feels ugh, Frosty is my guy. The remakes were never great for me but this one will always be classic Christmas.

Last year I tried to watch at least one Christmas movie a day and I think I got to day 15 and couldn't fit one in so this year is attempt number 2! Come back tomorrow loves for more Blogmas XOXO SAM
